Family: (Turdidae) Thrushes

Preferred Habitat: Moist, deciduous woodlands

Seasonal Occurrence: Common in spring; uncommon summer through fall.

Notes: About the size of a robin, Wood Thrushes are larger than the other spring migrant thrushes (Veery, Swainson's and Gray-cheeked). Cinnamon-brown above with white breast and prominent spots. Males and females look alike. The song is a beautiful flute-like phrase of 3 to 5 notes.
