Backyard Bugs Camp
Insects cover our planet, yet many are hiding right under our noses! Spend the week investigating the incredible diversity of earth’s largest group of animals. They creep, crawl, fly, buzz, and flutter all around us. Make bug trappers, build an insectarium, design buggy costumes to wear, and spend lots of time up close with our tiniest backyard neighbors. Schedule: July 14-18, 2014, 9 AM - Noon, Monday-Friday.
Habitat Hideaways Camp
People live in buildings, but what about our animal neighbors? In this jungle construction camp, we’ll learn how to build like a beaver and nest like a newt! We’ll dig kid-size burrows out in the forest. We’ll spin giant spider webs along the trail. And we’ll create our very own crawfish chimneys around the pond. Join us for the fort-building fun!
Schedule: July 21-25, 2014, 9 AM - Noon, Monday-Friday.

Do you have what it takes to survive in the wild? We’ll test our nature survival skills as we learn to build shelters, filter our own water, start a fire without a match, cook using the sun, and make a tasty snack from plants (and bugs!) found here in our forest. New this year, we’ll all gather back together on Friday night to test our orienteering skills after dark, camp-out in our shelters, and enjoy a tasty campfire meal!
