A bright cardinal flies overhead.
Maybe there 's a raccoon asleep in the hole ‘way up in that oak tree.
Down at the pond, two turtles are sunning on a log.
This is the world of the Houston Audubon Society 's Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary, an eighteen-acre oasis in the midst of Houston 's busy Memorial area. It's a world which the volunteer members of the Audubon Docent Guild love to share with tour groups of Brownies, Cub Scouts, preschoolers, garden clubs — with anyone who wants to learn to respect and appreciate our natural world.
About Us
The Audubon Docent Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We assist the Houston Audubon Society with educational programs and the maintenance of the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary and recruit and train volunteers for those purposes. We also provide education programs for the Audubon Docent Guild members, and engage in activities to help support the Houston Audubon Society and the Audubon Docent Guild 's nature education programs.
Contact the Audubon Docent Guild Coordinator, Bethany Foshée, at 713-464-4900 or e-mail us at docent@houstonaudubon.org if you would like to learn more.
We'd love to have you join our group!
