Family Nighttime Adventures:
2008-09 Owl Prowls

Owl Prowls begin with a lively program on owls including a rare opportunity to meet live, rehabilitated owls at the Edith Moore Sanctuary log cabin. Then we take recordings of screech owl calls out onto the Sanctuary’s wooded trails in hopes of attracting the attention of resident screech owls who are busy setting up their territories in preparation for nesting in early March.

Dates:
Friday, November 14, 2008
Friday, December 12, 2008
Friday, January 9, 2009
Friday, February 13, 2009

Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Fee: $10.00 per person, payable in advance. Maximum number of reservations permitted per family or group is four.

Minimum Age: All prowlers must be at least 6 years old.

What to Bring: Dress for walking in the woods – including insect repellant. Adults may bring a flashlight – to be used "just in case." (Kids get too excited with flashlights and tend to scare any interested owls away.)

Reservations: Please contact Bethany Foshée, Audubon Docent Guild Coordinator, at 713-464-4900 soon. Owl prowls fill up fast! Maximum number of participants on an owl prowl is thirty-two.
