Adopt-A-Bird

The Houston Audubon Society would like to invite you to take an active role in our educational programs. Our educational birds are a highlight of these special programs and are making impacts at schools across Texas. By "adopting" one of our avian ambassadors, you will be helping with the expenses of food and care for these amazing birds. In exchange for your generous help, you will receive a 5"x7" photo of your sponsor bird and an "adoption" certificate. (Please allow two weeks for processing.)

Adopt-A-Class

The Houston Audubon Society would like to invite you to take an active role in our educational programs. Our programs are provided at no charge to low income groups and Title 1 schools. These educational opportunities are critical to the future of our city. You can help by funding programs and field trips for classrooms from around the city.

Adopt-A-Tree

The Houston Audubon’s sanctuaries include pinewoods, coastal mud flats, bottomland hardwood forests, coastal marshes, and urban forests. The Adopt-A-Tree program enables us to replant and restore areas that have lost native vegetation from storms, insect damage, motorized vehicles, and other causes.

Adopt-The-Cabin

The Houston Audubon Society would like to invite you to take an active role in the protection of our historic cabin at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary. Built in 1931, the cabin needs some Tender Loving Care after seventy-six years of hospitality. We need your help to prevent further damage from insects and weather. Help can come in the form of funds, expertise, enthusiasm, knowledge, and experience.

Adopt-The-Garden

The Houston Audubon’s Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center is a haven for birds, butterflies, and children. The habitat gardens provide endless wildlife viewing possibilities and the newly renovated vegetable and herb gardens engage children in hands on activities not available anywhere else. Recent studies prove that gardening education can greatly improve science knowledge and testing scores. In addition, a study from LSU showed that students engaged in gardening education improved their life skills scores. Won’t you help us pave the way to a generation of earth stewards? In appreciation of your support we will build a "Stewardship Path" with stones engraved with your name or the names of someone you would like to remember.
