Post-Ike Recovery Clean-up

Coastal Sanctuaries: We need lots of help with coastal cleanups. We have made plans for work days on October 11 (tentative), October 25, November 15, and December 13. We work from 8 AM to 2 PM, but volunteers are welcome whenever they show up. HAS supplies lunch, water and some tools. Please bring your favorite tools along. Contact Andrew Beck to sign up for a work day. We will send you more information as plans firm up. Please Note: a signed waiver is necessary to volunteer on the coast.  ALL volunteers need to sign up with Andrew before showing up for a work day.

Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary and Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center: We are conducting cleanup efforts at both sanctuaries and would be very grateful for assistance of any kind at either sanctuary. Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center is in particular need. If you are able to help, please contact Flo Hannah for Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary, and Mary Anne Weber for Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center.

Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center Gardens

Please join us Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 9 AM and Noon. We need help in our wildlife gardens, organic vegetable garden, and on the trails. No experience is necessary and we will provide all the training, tools and refreshments. Please contact Katerina Graham 713-640-2407 for more information and to volunteer.
