  Mundy Marsh Bird Sanctuary

Mundy Marsh Bird Sanctuary368 acres of prime coastal wetlands and prairie, located on the Bolivar Peninsula near Gilchrist. Houston Audubon acquired the land through a donation from Bolivar Holdings, Ltd., in May 2004. The sanctuary is named in honor of Jeff Mundy, HAS President from 2001 to 2003. His many years of hard work and dedication resulted in the growth and expansion of HAS as well as the addition of hundreds of acres of bird and wildlife habitat to the Society’s holdings. The sanctuary is open to the public daily. Please note that the sanctuary is undeveloped and as yet has no trails.
