What's In the Dirt

TurtleA hands-on presentation that illustrates the importance of "dirt" to kids, showing that we’d all starve without healthy soil – tracing the origins of pizza as an example. We use hand puppets, wheat stalks, tomatoes and tubs of compost with live earthworms, beetles & snails to prove our points. We finish up with live, dirt-loving box turtles – all very hands-on.

Pond Wigglies

A program that shows how every individual member of both human and pond communities is necessary to the survival of each community as a whole. We use pond creature hand puppets and live specimens (minnows, tadpoles, crawfish, water turtles, etc.) from Houston Audubon’s Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary’s ponds to show children the wonder of pond life.

Please contact Audubon Docent Guild, telephone 713-464-4900. The cost is $75.00 per program.
