The Ivory-billed Woodpecker in Texas by Fred Collins (3 MB PDF)
Introduction by Fred Collins: "This document, The Ivory-billed Woodpecker in Texas, was written for a technical writing class I took as an undergraduate in the fall semester of my senior year at Texas A&M. Its production was pre-computer era and was only one course of six I was taking that semester. However, it was the beginning of a multiyear interest in the status of the bird in Texas at the time and I continued to receive reports into the early 80s. With the renewed interest in the species prompted by its discovery in Arkansas I am in the process of updating the report. The new report will be Potential for the Ivory-billed Woodpecker in Texas 2005. If lightening can strike twice, perhaps it can be followed by Status of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker in Texas 2006!"
