Galveston County Spring Bird Count

May 3, 2008

This count is our contribution to International Migratory Bird Day. Help us survey the entire Galveston County. Galveston County includes some great birding: High Island, the Bolivar Peninsula, Galveston Island, Texas City, and the mainland area to Clear Creek including part of Friendswood. Everyone is welcome! This is your opportunity to learn about a part of the county you might not know already.

Teams are organized to cover different areas of Galveston County, and the participants can bird for part of the day or for the entire 24-hour period. Beginning birdwatchers will be teamed up with more experienced birders, so don’t be afraid to help due to lack of experience! If you are simply going to be birding in Galveston County on May 3 and don’t want to be on a specific team, you can still participate by getting the forms and keeping records of your sightings.

To volunteer, please contact Norma Rubin, telephone 409-763-0660.
